We invented Swaddle Strap because we wanted one and it didn't exist!
As soon as we learned about the important role of swaddling in calming a fussy newborn, we were on board and had swaddling blankets at the ready for when our little one arrived. Our first days and nights home from the hospital with newborn Eve, we began swaddling her right from the start, and it was a critical step in calming her. But it was frustrating because proper swaddling with a blanket is difficult to achieve and hard to keep on once you get a good wrap. It is particularly frustrating in the middle of the night with a baby screaming in your ear. When you swaddle a baby that is already upset, he or she squirms as you are wrapping, making it much more difficult. More times than not, our daughter would squirm out of the swaddling blanket within several minutes, defeating the whole purpose. She is something of a baby Houdini. Further complicating matters, often times as soon as we would get her swaddled successfully, she immediately needed a diaper change and then we had to start all over again. WITH OUR UNIQUE 2 STRAP, 2 PILLOW DESIGN, SWADDLE STRAP SOLVES ALL THESE PROBLEMS. During that first week at home with her and very little sleep for us, we were feeling very frazzled. We knew swaddling worked but it was just too hard. Robert: "Eve and I thought of SWADDLE STRAP while I was holding her arms still with my hand trying to get her to go back to sleep after she wriggled out of yet another swaddling blanket. Anna and I had been joking about needing a 'baby straight jacket' - something that was simple to put on and stayed put once it was on." The next morning we put together the first prototype and SWADDLE STRAP was born!
